Hi there! I was recently tagged by @blameitonchocolate to do the Unpopular Opinions Book Tag!! aka my first tag ever. Thank you Sophie for tagging me!
They have a lovely blog so I definitely recommend checking it out!
I don’t think I have many unpopular opinions so I guess we’ll see how this goes? I also might end up skipping some questions (sorry).
I’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion. It seems like a 50/50 chance that you either love it or hate it.
I hated it with my whole being. One book that I wish I never ever ever picked up. I assume you’ve heard about this book but if not I’ll link it below, but I really don’t recommend it.
Rowan and Aelin from the Throne of Glass series. I don’t hate their relationship or even dislike their characters separately. I just don’t care to read about their relationship. It has always fallen flat for me compared to some of the others that Maas has written.
Find Throne of Glass on Goodreads
I have never enjoyed Science Fiction. There are a few gems out there that I’ve read and enjoyed. Ready Player One, The Martian, Illuminae, but there aren’t enough to say that I’m a true fan of the genre.
Nine times out of ten I’ll always pick any other genre over a science fiction novel. Maybe one day I’ll get into it but that day is not today my friends.
Jamie fucking Fraser. Couldn’t stand the man. I’m honestly surprised I made it through this book without imploding. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed this book but it would’ve been soooooo much better with a different love interest.
Before you comment saying his actions are realistic for the time period. I honestly don’t care. It still doesn’t mean I have to like his character.
Don’t get me wrong, I am going to read this some day. I’ve owned a copy since it’s release date so I feel like I have to read it. But as of right now, I have no interest in picking this up. The extreme hype killed it for me and I’ve been spoiled on I don’t even know how many things through social media.
I wish I could forget all of that and go in knowing nothing of the story. Wouldn’t that be nice.
I was never a huge fan of the Goosebumps book series. I think I read a few, I don’t even remember finishing them if I’m honest, and then I gave up soon after.
The TV show is a completely different story, I could’ve watched that sh*t all day, every day. I can’t even explain to you why I loved the tv show and not the books? Probably because I don’t remember.
I tag:
Questions I Skipped:
- A popular series that everyone else hates but you love
- A popular author you can’t seem to get into
- A popular trope you’re tired of seeing
Yes! I don’t like Jamie either! I just don’t like Outlander in general but when I mentioned that I didn’t like Jamie, people sort of freaked out!
I’m so happy i’m not the only one who doesn’t like him!😊

Ah loved reading your responses!! I haven’t read Outlander yet but I own a copy and have been meaning to read it. I’ve seen so much hype over it though that idk if it will live up to the expectations. Social media definitely sucks when it comes to overhyping a book, I’m sad thats happened for you with six of crows! Hopefully, you can forget it exists for like a year then maybe come back to it with a fresh mindset haha!!

Thank you! I hope you enjoy Outlander if you ever get around to it! I just know I’ll read Six of Crows sooner or later… probably later 😀

Lol, I definitely agree with Captive Prince!!! I see people gushing over it and i’m like grrrrrr no why must you do this, this book is terrible, haha. I definitely agree with Rowan and Aelin… in general im not a huge fan of sjm, i’ve basically given up on her books lol.

It’s just… an awful book. I’ve heard the second book has less abuse/every other terrible plot device Captive Prince included but I honestly don’t want to waste any more of my time on these books. As for SJM, I’m such a big fan and I’m usually okay with the relationships but something about Aelin and Rowan… I don’t even know.

For Rowan and Aelin I think it’s more i’m just indifferent to Rowan? I think for me, if I don’t find the guy cool, I can’t really get into the ship…. idek, but i feel you when it comes to them

Thanks for the tag! I loved reading this! I’ve heard a lot of bad things about the Captive Prince trilogy and this definitely sealed my opinion on not reading it!

Great post! 🙂 I’m glad you still did this despite not having many unpopular opinions hahaha
I so agree with you on Rowan/Aelin… I wish it had never happened! Chaol was just so much better.
Thank you for the shout out ❤
