WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Taking on a World of Words.
To participate, all you have to do is answer the following questions:
What are you currently reading?
I’m not too far into this but it is my first Stephen King novel so I have high hopes.
Only death can keep you from the finish line – in the ultimate competition of the all-too-near future…
Every year, on the first day of May, one hundred teenage boys meet for an event known throughout the country as “The Long Walk.” Among this year’s chosen crop is sixteen-year-old Ray Garraty. He knows the rules: that warnings are issued if you fall under speed, stumble, sit down. That after three warnings… you get your ticket. And what happens then serves as a chilling reminder that there can be only one winner in the Walk – the one that survives…
What was the last book you read?
A middle grade to take my mind off of all the thillers I’ve been reading. It was cute, I enjoyed it but I have to say it’s the one movie adaptation I like waaay more than the book.
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is a truly extraordinary Viking hero known throughout Vikingdom as “the Dragon Whisperer”… but it wasn’t always so. Travel back to the days when the mighty warrior was just a boy, the quiet and thoughtful son of the Chief of the Hairy Hooligans. Can Hiccup capture a dragon and train it without being torn limb from limb? Join the adventure as the small boy finds a better way to train his dragon and becomes a hero.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I need to push myself to finally read this one considering I received it for review about a month ago… someone tell me off if it’s not the next novel I read.
High in the Hollywood Hills, writer Lady Daniels has decided to take a break from her husband. She’s going to need a hand with her young son if she’s ever going to finish her memoir. In comes S., a magnetic young artist, who will live in the secluded guest house out back, care for Lady’s young toddler son, and keep a watchful eye on her older, teenage, one. S. performs her day job beautifully, quickly drawing the entire family into her orbit, and becoming a confidante for Lady. But as the summer wears on, S.’s connection to Lady’s older son takes a disturbing, and possibly destructive, turn. Lady and S. will move closer to one another as they both threaten to harm the things they hold most dear.
Darkly comic, twisty and tense, this mesmerizing new novel defies expectation and proves Edan Lepucki to be one of the most talented and exciting voices of her generation.
That’s all for today folks. Thank you so much for reading and have a great day!
