The Nintendo Book Tag

I was tagged by the lovely duskangelreads to do the Nintendo Book Tag! I personally don’t play video games and I know nothing about Nintendo but the questions sound fun and I love doing tags so here we go

NES (NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM): A CLASSIC YOU WANT TO READ

800545.jpg

The Color Purple by Alice Walker is a classic I’ve been meaning to read for so long. I’m in love with the musical so why haven’t I read the book?!

I’m hoping I’ll be in the mood to pick it up later in the month! We’ll see!

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is a book that means so much to me. When a book has such a strong impact on you it’s definitely going to change how you view certain things, right? Even the little things.

GAMECUBE: A POPULAR BOOK THAT DID NOT GO OVER SO WELL WITH YOU

23492288.jpg

Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes is the sequel to You. The first book was amazing, if you haven’t checked it out, please do! It’s definitely a unique read.

As for Hidden Bodies… it just wasn’t good. It was boring and the story felt like it was being dragged along. In my opinion the book itself was unnecessary. You was great as a standalone novel. I haven’t seen anyone who feels the same as me about this one so who knows, maybe you’ll like it even more than the first. It’s just my opinion after all.

You by Kepnes is an intense book dealing with murder, abuse, etc. You might want to read reviews to make sure it’s something you’re comfortable reading

A graphic novel I want to read: The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui.

An intimate and poignant graphic novel portraying one family’s journey from war-torn Vietnam… Bui documents the story of her family’s daring escape after the fall of South Vietnam in the 1970s, and the difficulties they faced building new lives for themselves.

SUPER MARIO: A CHARACTER THAT YOU’D LOVE TO SQUISH LIKE A GOOMBA

22693149.jpg

Sophie from A School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani. I don’t want to squish or kill her, I do like her morally grey personality but it also gets on my nerves at times.

Maybe I can just knock her across the head. Anything to knock some sense into her.

ZELDA: A NEWER FANTASY THAT YOU CONSIDER TO BE A MODERN CLASSIC

13928.jpg

While definitely not new, Daugher of the Forest by Juliet Marillier reads like a classic fantasy.

There are so many words I could use to describe this book but right now I’ll just say it’s amazing.

Trigger Warning for rape. It’s an unexpected scene towards the beginning, if I remember correctly, that I wasn’t expecting so I wouldn’t want anyone going into this story blind to that like I did.

SAMUS-ARAN: FAVORITE SCI-FI NOVEL OR ONE YOU WANT TO READ

12600138.jpg

Sci-Fi is usually the last genre I consider picking up, it’s just not my cup of tea. I’m surprised I ever picked this one up but Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is by far the best science fiction novel I have read.

These editions of Anne of Green Gables over on Juniper Books. THEY’RE JUST SO BEAUTIFUL. I MEAN, LOOK AT THEM.

Juniper Books has amazing editions of classics but their prices make me cry inside.

But one day… I will have these and my bookshelves will finally be beautiful.
